The Evolution of GOOGLE search

Is Google a verb?

You know you’ve made it when people start using your brand as part of your daily sentences, I remember that when I needed a recipe I had to “google” it on, well, Google.  With a click of the mouse google-magic happens and I have Roast Beef and stuff for dinner – HAPPY DAYS! Do you know how it all happened, how Google first evolved?

An article from Search Engine Land features a video on how it started off as a research project in 1996, the introduction of AdWords, image searches, Google News, universal searches, Google Instant, and the latest – Google Images (search by image).  One of the ways of searching is by drag-and-drop on to the search bar and it will show results o what image you are looking for (I tried it with a few of my own photos but some were not recognized).

Google’s Search by Image: 4 ways to search by image.

BTW: YouTube (2nd largest search engine) gave me a more visual presentation than words for my RECIPE – Jamie Oliver style. Sooner or later “YouTube” will be a verb and every business will eventually need a web video to visually showcase their product or service (just saying).

Here’s a video by Jamie Oliver on Knife Skills (and how not to lose your fingers):
